Course Description

Dear Students,

The FI(A)-IR course aims to qualify you as an instructor for training in instrument flight. Our experienced instrument flight instructors will provide you with the knowledge needed to pass on the skills you have acquired in instrument flight, both in the airplane and on the simulator, to your students.

The FI(A)-IR/IRI(A) course primarily focuses on deepening the procedures described in the IFR Training Manual. The emphasis of the practical training is on cockpit orientation, systems, IR procedures, and the standardization of training procedures.

The training consists of a theoretical part (10 hours) and a practical part (5 hours), provided you are already an FI(A) flight instructor under EASA-FCL. If you do not hold an FI(A) flight instructor qualification, a total of 50 hours of theory and 10 hours of practice are required.

Prerequisites:
You must hold a PPL(A), CPL(A), or ATPL(A) and have at least 200 hours of IR flight experience, of which up to 50 hours may be completed in an FNPT II or flight simulator.
